Coming from a family where being quiet and reserved would qualify as equal as being weird, reading was never part of the schedule. Since I was very young my mom put me into every single activity you can think of. From tap lessons to Tae Kwon Do, the idea was to keep me busy and not to become mute with a screen in front of me.
My love for reading didn’t develop up until I was thirteen years old when a lit professor made us read a ton of books in high school. We started our literature journey with something light and he taught us how to understand what the actual message from the authors was. That sparked my curiosity and led me to pick a career out of it later, so it kind of changed my life.
Without further due, here is my -very difficult to pick- top 5 books recommendations to jump-start your reading habit:

The Little Prince – Antoine de Saint-Exupery
I know what you might be thinking. However, try to go over it with an open mind and heart. The lessons and the watercolors painted by the Author were so out of his regular work that they became a unique literary object. It takes you back to your roots and to the real meaning of being human.

To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee This is a classic in American literature, and if you haven’t read it by now, I strongly recommend you to. Even though is a thriller first published in 1960, the messages that this book holds about race and justice portrayed in a fictional town in Alabama will move you in the best way possible.

She originally became popular thanks to a Ted talk about vulnerability, and thanks to that success, a lot of people understood the benefits of comprehending our feelings in order to communicate and live your best life.

We are starting a Cargobot book club, we thought some of us might be wanting to read more than we do and a group that supports the reading habit is a great way to start. That is why next Wednesday, June 21st we´ll meet for 30 minutes at the end of the day to choose a book and possible dates to have our Book Club meetings!
